Notice of Business Practices
These are my personal rules of the road for doing business as a professional photographer. Please read them before agreeing to book a shoot or buy a print.
I require a signed contract delivered to me no later than three (3) business days before the session or event my client has hired me to photograph, along with the initial payment outlined in the contract. This payment is to be delivered by way of a reliable electronic platform, such as (but not limited to) Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal, and will be effectively held in escrow until the terms of the contract are completed and the remainder of payment is delivered.
I require a live consultation meeting—either in person or over a reliable video calling platform such as (but not limited to) FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, or Skype—with my client to review contract terms and confirm assignment details, no later than seven (7) business days before the session or event, before signing the contract.
I do not get involved with any client’s financial transactions with third parties. The sole exception to this rule is collection of fees owed to me for any contracted photography services that an assistant of my choice may jointly provide to the client.
For print commissions, I require payment to be made either in full upon commission, or split between 50 percent upon commission and 50 percent upon delivery. As with photography sessions and events, this payment is to be delivered electronically via a reliable platform and will be effectively held in escrow until the print is delivered.
I reserve the right to refuse services to any client who is unable and/or unwilling to cooperate with the terms of service described herein. This reservation of rights includes at all times from the inception of the contract to my completion and delivery of finished photos as ordered in the written contract, or as written and co-signed in any addendum.
Any variations from my business practices stated in my contract and herein shall be documented in advance of services, in a writing dated, signed and notarized by all involved parties. The original document will be maintained by my counsel.
I look forward to working with you and helping tell your story. Let's get shooting!
